Camiguin White Island

Early morning visit at the White “sand” Island , Camiguin with my family before going back to Cagayan de Oro. This island has no trees or even shade but it has a great view of Mount Hibok-Hibok. Going to the island is clear blue water and you can see the corals. Perfect for diving, snorkeling and swimming. Local say that the island disappears when it is high tide and the best time to go is early morning or late afternoon. Photo credit: erwanlissillour

thanks to all who visited camiguin cuz' i also hail from the beautiful. white island is the favorite of our visitors.

but tourists don't know that white island is more beautiful before. what you see now is about less than 25% of the original size. before mid-70s, its elevation was higher than 6 ft. you cannot see people standing at the other side. mind you, it's not the work of nature ... but by man.

anyway, let's enjoy what's left.
