The fruit bat known as the flying fox of Mindoro is now included in the top 10 new species on the year 2008. The bat had been known as "large and charismatic". It is only found in the island of Mindoro. This is something that the Philippines should be proud of for it is included in the list of new species like the pink millipede and very venomous snakes of other countries.
