Effective 2008, the Bureau of Internal Revenue imposes a uniform personal exemption rate for all taxpayers regardless of marital status. The formerly P20,000, P25,000, and P32,000 exemption for single, head of the family, and married, respectively, is now fixed at a uniform rate of P50,000. This would mean a lower amount of taxable income, therefore a lesser tax requirement for individual earners.
