Weaning baby from milk to solid food

As we all know milk gives adequate nourishment for the first 6 months of life of our child. But after that solid food shall be added to his/her diet. Start weaning the baby with mother’s milk about four months old and introduced semi-solid foods that are smooth and soft in texture. Fresh soft fruits like bananas or papayas may be scraped or mash with a spoon and fed to baby. Softer porridge will do and you can even add vegetables that are mashed like potatoes and carrots. Just be careful in giving eggs because this may cause allergy in some babies. And once the baby is a year older, he/she will have enough teeth to be able to chew minced meat, fish, vegetables, and even fruits. If the infant can already tolerate it you can even give the child little rice.
