When a child whines

I wanted to be a smart parent so I read just about every book on parenting I could lay my hands on. One day, I was at home reading the book “The Obedient Child” by Ken Wilson. I was on the chapter discussing how to correct your child when she is whining.

The book says first, you have to teach your child the meaning of whining. You must catch him whining and point out the behavior. Say something like: “Stop whining. Don’t use that tone of voice with me. ” That’s whining.
