The capital of the Philippines is Metro Manila or merely referred to as Manila. It is one of the three distinct metropolitan areas in the Philippines ; the others are Metro Cebu and Metro Davao. There are 16 cities and on municipality in Metro Manila.
First stop, Intramuros (the old capital of Manila ) at the center you will find Manila Cathedral which by the way was destroyed and rebuilt numerous times. St. Augustine Church is the oldest stone church in the Philippines . Fort Santiago, during Spanish to Japanese times this was a place of prison and torture of political prisoners.
Roxas Boulevard, one of Manila ’s greatest landmarks. The boulevard stretches to Manila Bay where there’s a perfect view of Manila sunset. Corrigedor (The Rock), tadpole-shaped island located across the entrance of Manila Bay.
Makati City is known to be the financial capital of the Philippines. It is where major banks, corporations, department stores, and embassies are situated. It is also known as “Little Hong Kong”.

Philippines
Let us discover more about the Philippines. It is made up of 7,107 islands covering a land area of 115,739 sq. m. Main Island groups are Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. It has a climate of hot and dry (summer) throughout March to May, rainy season from June to October and it is cool through November to February. Philippines is the third largest English speaking country in the world. Filipino (tagalog) is the native language. Philippines is famous with their cultures, traditions (festival and fiestas), churches, bizarre food, and of course their tourist spots. Together, we will explore our country, the Philippines.
